Elyse Guttenberg is the author of three novels, Sunder, Eclipse and Seed, Summer Light, and its sequel Daughter of the Shaman. She moved to Fairbanks in 1972 and holds a bachelor of arts and master’s degrees from the University Alaska, Fairbanks. She served for 15 years as a Fairbanks North Star Borough Library Commissioner and is the recipient of an Alaska State Council on the Arts Individual Fellowship in Literature, and an Artists Initiative Award with which she published Inroads, An Anthology of Alaska’s 27 Fellowship Writers, with Jean Anderson. She and her husband live on twenty acres of land in Interior Alaska in a home they built themselves.
