Children of Hope

Section IV: Children = Hope“Children = Hope”

“Children = Hope” continues the series of Quilted Chronicles that heralds visual stories about people and social issue, in this case, violence transformed. The quilt features cloth portraiture and the image of a child and a target. In the conversation between the target and the child, an early image of my grandson, Amaru, the target is double-edged. On one hand it implies that our children are the mark, the important constant in our equation. On the other hand, it is for us to consciously understand the impact of our children and to also understand the significance of our efforts to protect them from being targeted. They are our hope.
