Scott Hightower

OCCUPY WALL STREET

These are not the protesters of either
nineteen thirty-two or the late nineteen
sixties and seventies. It’s two thousand eleven,
and these are among those without a paycheck,
a home, security. They are not camping;
they are demonstrating. It is peaceful.
Evening setting in under the trees
and over the blue tents. It’s complicated.
