Clemencio Bascar

Crack in the Horizon

This fraudulent drizzle
Doesn’t belong
To this season; A GANGSTER OF THE MONSOON
                            MUST BE PLAYING TRICKS ON US
                            AGAIN;
LOOK AT THAT
Crooked
Stream
Of
Sunshine; isn’t it odd
That it should fall on
A murky dewdrop
Hanging from a tip
Of a ROTTEN TWIG?

 I don’t know what to expect
                                     Anymore; it seems all of nature
                                     Is turning upside down; even chance has no more purpose;
                                     Could this be the DREADED REM PHENOMENON
                                     Occurring in broad daylight when everyone
                                     Is up and about pampering one’s ego?

HOW ABOUT
THAT CRIPPLED RED ANT
CARRYING A LOAD MUCH BIGGER THAN ITS SIZE?

Could it be an ominous act?
Is there another crack in the
HORIZON?
