Nina Bednarski was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1979. Art has always been her main focus and, with unwavering encouragement, her parents made sure travel, art classes, and summer workshops were abundant throughout her youth. At age four Nina began Milwaukee Public Montessori school and spent most of those years drawing in a window sill. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for a degree in Geography and Environmental Science, and this knowledge informs her work to this day. Nina avoided art school for fear of losing her “style” and chose to forge ahead after college with four years in NYC, where she lived in her painting studio in Brooklyn and worked as a freelance display artist in Manhattan. Her work has been represented by several galleries in NYC, but she finds representing herself to be the most advantageous for her survival and for the integrity of the work. Her love of the Midwest and Wisconsin has been ever present, so she chooses to make her influence from here and travels any chance she gets. She has traveled far and wide but has recently returned to her birth city to work full-time in her dream studio on the Lake Michigan shore. You can join her mailings for updates and see more of her work at: www.ninabednarski.com.
