Vivian Demuth is an American-Canadian author of the eco-poetry book, Fire Watcher (Guernica Editions, 2013), which was a finalist for the 2013 Banff Mountain Fiction and Poetry Award. She is also the author of the ecological novels Bear War-den (Inanna Publications, 2015) and Eyes of the Forest (Smoky Peace Press, 2007). Vivian’s poetry and fiction have been published in journals and anthologies in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe and have been broadcast on public radio. Vivian’s videos have appeared in various public venues including the Barcelona Planet Film Festival and Manhattan Neighborhood Network Public Television. She has worked as a park ranger, an outdoor educator and as a fire lookout observer in the Rocky Mountains in the United States and Canada.
