I raced against my sister
on this beach. You and I walk,

then rest, each of us bold
with art. You photograph

reef, the glisten of kelp;
I word-sketch our shadows

that lean toward one another.
Daughter, so many poems

of deserts and stones!
Aperture of Resolve,

you hold your lens
to the golden shore.
