Most of my work is documentary and focuses on injustice and inequality faced by communities of color. These images are part of an ongoing series entitled “This is Why We Kneel.” This series shows the constant presence of police in the black community.
Amir Saadiq is inspired by Gordan Parks and uses his camera as his weapon of choice to capture moments where humanity happens. He attended Howard University where he received his degree in International Relations and African-American History. It’s important for Amir to make sure that he uses his camera to control the narrative of his community.
