Karin Hedetniemi is a writer, traveler, and photographer from Vancouver Island, Canada. Her atmospheric images and photo galleries have been published in numerous literary journals including Barren Magazine, CutBank, Parentheses, Invisible City, and Sunlight Press. Her photo cover art has been curated by Pithead Chapel, 3Elements Review, The B’K, Nightingale & Sparrow, and has been nominated for Best of the Net. Karin is an award-winning nonfiction writer with essays published in Lunch Ticket, Prairie Fire, Hinterland, The London Reader, Thin Air Magazine, MORIA, and elsewhere. Her haiku recently won an Award of Excellence in the 2023 Setouchi-Matsuyama International Photo-Haiku Contest. She lives in a small cottage near the sea and finds daily inspiration walking shorelines, meadows, and forested river trails.
