A poet, writer, and visual artist from Southwest Virginia, Cathryn Hankla is professor emerita of the Jackson Center for Creative Writing at Hollins University. Her recent books include Immortal Stuff: prose poems (2023), Not Xanadu: poems (2022), and a memoir in essays, Lost Places: On Losing and Finding Home (2018). She lives in Roanoke and exhibits visual art at Market Gallery.
