This series is entitled RETURN. This piece captures the past, present, and future; it is a mixed media portrait of vintage cloth, yellow watermelon seeds, linoleum, white and red flowers and acetate prints. This work speaks to the return home, return to the land with respect, the seeding of new futures by honoring the earth and the sacred black woman.
Jina Imani lives in Redlands, CA and is a mother to an amazing son. She is a poet, author, art curator and mixed media artist. She has written and illustrated two zines and authored a children’s book. She is also a part of Slow Bloom Coffee Co Op. Jina is an emerging artist and uses self portraiture and conceptual arts to express herself as a conscious artist. She has journeyed from survivor to thriver and finds freedom in her artistic guise. Meditation and Mindfulness practices help guide her way of life and she enjoys supporting others on their journey of self discovery and mental health through bodywork and reiki.
