She goes down.

Most of her classmates freeze.

Those who do not, capture the moment
from multiple angles.

In one version, it looks like her head hits the desk
of a student seated behind her.

In another, a clear shot of the girl dragged
then handcuffed.

There is no one to call when
the police are the perpetrator.
 
 
 
Mark Danowsky is a poet. His poems have appeared in Alba, Cordite, Grey Sparrow, The Lake, Mobius: The Journal of Social Change, Shot Glass Journal, The New Verse News, Third Wednesday and elsewhere. Mark is originally from the Philadelphia area, but currently resides in North-Central West Virginia. He works for a private detective agency and is Managing Editor for the Schuylkill Valley Journal.
