Sujoy Bhattacharya

Blooming mourning

Shame-driven – human beings will flee to forest
To make room for the human – beasts …
I am not going to bloom again
I will not emit fragrance , my heart .
The irate flower took a rigid vow
No poetic mind to admire my beauty ,
No adroit hand exists on the earth
To sing my glory of immortality .
No one cares for me at all now
Bud to blossom – my life span , who watches? .
From cradle to grave – people need me
I am tired of serving vile human purpose .
I am trampled, neglected I am nastily .
Smothered I am , killed I am finally .
Silently endured a lot of human tortures —
Let them be happy with my rival –plastic flower .
